The BJP today staged a huge protest-rally and demanded immediate resignation and arrest of TMC ministers allegedly shown in the Narada tapes.

The rally was led by state BJP president Dilip Ghosh, BJP national secretary Rahul Sinha and other senior state BJP leaders. The rally starting from Esplanade ended outside the CBI office at Nizam Palace.

Carrying placards demanding immediate arrest of the "tainted ministers" thousands of BJP workers marched through the route and burnt effigies of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her party colleagues.

"We feel that the 'tainted ministers' should resign immediately as they have lost the moral right to continue in office. The ministers and TMC leaders who are seen on camera accepting bribes should be arrested immediately. It is a matter of shame for all of us," Ghosh said.

Ghosh said, "The people of Bengal can no longer trust the state government whose ministers are seen on camera accepting bribes. Never before people of this state have seen such a corrupt government."

Ghosh criticised the police administration for turning a blind eye to TMC goons who beat up police personnel, but became "very active while stopping Ram Navami rallies.
