Punjab Police Commissioner R P Mittal said Mehra was attacked when he was going by a car along with his wife Pooja Mehra, as a result of which his wife suffered minor injuries.

Mittal said the rear view glass of the car was smashed.

Police registered a criminal case in connection with the incident but no arrest has been made.

However, Mehra claimed that earlier police were reluctant to lodge their complaint but when a protest was staged by his supporters and traffic blocked they arrived on the spot with an assurance to initiate action against the culprits. COR SUN PAL
