BJP Odisha unit president B K Panda today revoked the suspension order on senior party leader and former minister, Jayanarayan Mishra and 10 others.

Mishra and others were suspended from the party for anti-party activities during the last panchayat elections on March 12.

Reacting on the decision of the party of revoking the suspension, Mishra said: "Earlier also I had said that I was in the BJP and would continue to work for BJP. The suspension or withdrawal of suspension makes no difference to me."

Mishra and nine Zilla Parishad members besides former BJP Sambalpur district president, Nauri Naik were suspended for going against the party decision and insulting BJP state unit vice president, Samir Mohanty during the election for the post of president of Zilla Parishad in Sambalpur.

During the election for the post of Zilla Parishad president, a scuffle had taken place in the BJP party office here over the nomination of candidate for the post.

Samir Mohanty, who was observer for Sambalpur, was allegedly assaulted in the incident. Subsequently, BJP had suspended 11 persons, including Jayanarayan Mishra, over the issue.

A press release issued by the BJP said the suspension was revoked after the party workers, who were suspended, accepted their mistakes and assured not to repeat such activities and abide by the constitution of the party.
