A Congress leader today rejecting BJP's allegations on ruling party's spending on their forthcoming state assembly session in Gairsain, termed the accusations as "wrong" and "misleading".
Congress leader and former minister Kishore Upadhyay told reporters that BJP should apologise to the people for this statement and withdraw it.
While Uttarakhand BJP President Teerat Singh Rawat has alleged that more than Rs 10 crore are being spent on the preparations for the three-day session slated to begin from June 9, Upadhyay countering that has said that only Rs 75 lakh would be spent on this event.
Justifying the event, Upadhyay said after last year's natural calamity, such an event would go a long way in giving confidence to the people and restoring their faith in the government.
Teerat and Leader of the Opposition in state assembly Ajay Bhatt has earlier alleged that the state government was spending people's money for this session to take political mileage out of the event.
Gairsain is a village in Chamoli district in central Uttarakhand.
