BJP's Mahila Morcha chief to head Maha Women's Commission

BJP's Mahila Morcha president Vijaya Rahatkar will head the State Women's Commission (SWC) in Maharashtra.

The Devendra Fadnavis government today also appointed other members of SWC.

Rahatkar, former Aurangabad mayor, replaces NCP leader Chitra Wagh and all the appointments are for three years, an official release said.

The other six members of the SWC are Nita Thakare (Nagpur), Shobha Benzarge (Latur), Gayabai Karad (Beed), Vrunda Kirtikar (Mumbai), Devyani Thakare (Jalgaon) and Ashatai Landge (Mumbai).
