Newly appointed Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari today visited a Dalit family in Karol Bagh area, had lunch with them and promised to work for ensuring education and employment opportunities for youths of the community.
Tiwari had been receiving invitations from various people since his appointment as the Delhi BJP chief, but he accepted invitation of a Valmiki family and visited the house of Vishal Thawaria, Delhi BJP media in-charge Praveen Kapoor said.
Women in the family admired efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for creating a new economic system and handed over piggy bank savings to Tiwari to be deposited to the PM's Relief Fund, he said.
"I will try to provide opportunities of education and employment to the youth from Dalit families and ensure the benefits of the welfare schemes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi reach these families," Tiwari was quoted as saying in the statement.
