BJP today hit out at Congress Ministers who had attacked it for opposing the ordinance on convicted lawmakers, asking them if they felt that Rahul Gandhi's remarks were also "unsolicited" and that he too has not understood the apex court ruling.

BJP also wanted to know why all those Congress leaders, who had criticised Narendra Modi after he spoke against Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in his August 15 speech, were silent when Singh was being "openly criticised" in his absence from the country.

"Mr Sibal, kindly tell us that you did not understand the apex court judgement or Rahul Gandhi does not understand.... Whose understanding is poor," BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said, asking him how he was unable to read his own party's "apex court".

Posing a query to Finance minister P Chidambaram, he said, "Are you not surprised after Rahul Gandhi's comment. Why did your Vice President chose to go against this Bill that it must be torn away."

Commenting on Information & Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari's remarks on BJP, Prasad said, "Kindly tell us that Mr Rahul Gandhi's advice is solicited or unsolicited. Is it to be taken seriously or not."

"Why Congressmen are quiet when their Prime Minister has been openly criticised. We have never seen such insult of Manmohan Singh," he said.
