Congress today hit out at BJP over its attempt to form a government in Delhi saying it shows the party was "scared" of fresh elections and suggested that Lt Governor Najeeb Jung will only do the bidding of Centre.
Party general secretary in-charge for Delhi Shakeel Ahmed at the same time remained ambivalent on the issue of fresh elections.
"It shows that BJP is afraid to face the people. BJP President Amit Shah is himself conceding that there is no Narendra Modi wave now and that's why they want to form a government in Delhi any how, without elections. BJP wants power without elections.

good days have come for Modi and Rajnath Singh, BJP leaders in Delhi also want the same to happen to them," AICC general secretary in-charge for Delhi Shakeel Ahmed said.
Replying to questions he said that if numbers are taken into account, BJP cannot form a government without horse- trading.
"The L-G will recommend what the Home Minister will say. After all only then he can remain an L-G," he said, asking the Home Minister to tell people what he has asked the L-G to do in this matter.
He also attached no importance to what the Home Minister said about BJP not indulging in any horse-trading to form a government and said the party speaks in many voices and its words cannot be trusted.
Home Minister Rajnath Singh maintained that the party will take a call once a formal proposal is received from the L-G while he ruled out his party indulging in any horse-trading.
"BJP does not believe in horse-trading. BJP will never favour a government with horse-trading," he had said.
BJP President Amit Shah suggested that the party was not averse to the idea of forming a government in Delhi saying "Our party got the mandate in the Assembly and Lok Sabha polls in Delhi, and we think that mandate stands. I do not find anything immoral in seeking support to form a government".
