Opposition BJP today wanted to know from Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar if he would dismiss the Excise minister for allegedly making cheap comments while trying to justify non-registration of case against JD(U) MLC Manorama Devi in the wake of recovery of liquor bottles at her Gaya residence.
Senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi also sought to know from the CM if he would punish police officials who showed "leniency" in arresting JD(U) MLC Manorama Devi after recovery of liquor bottles at her Gaya home during raid on Monday night.
Sushil Modi in a statement here quoted Excise minister Abdul Jalil Mastan reported comment in defence of the MLC "who is owner of a woman other than husband. Thats why we have registered FIR against her husband (Bindi Yadav)" and asked the CM if he would dismiss him for giving "cheap statement" to protect the ruling coalition legislator.

Sushil Modi, who is leader of opposition in Legislative Council, also referred to Additional Director General of Police (Headquarters) Sunil Kumar's reported statement that FIR against Manorama Devi was not registered in the case of recovery of liquor bottles because in Bihar women do not booze.
He further drew attention to Gaya City Superintendent of Police Awkash Kumar's comment that the room from where liquor bottles was recovered was used by Bindi Yadav and his son Rocky Yadav and that's way name of Manorama Devi was not included in the case registered under new Excise Act earlier.
"Isn't all these defences indicate attempt to shield the JD(U) MLC?" Sushil Modi, who was Deputy Chief Minister during NDA rule, asked.
"Only yesterday, a woman was arrested from platform number four of Gaya railway station after four liquor bottles were found from her bag. Than why the JD(U) MLC was not arrested immediately after liquor bottles were found from her house?" the BJP leader questioned.
After her suspension from JD(U) yesterday, name of Manorama Devi was included in the FIR last night in connection with recovery of liquor bottles.
