BJP today called for the expulsion of Jammu and Kashmir minister Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo for assaulting a senior official and said members of the ruling National Conference-Congress government were acting like "goons".

"The state is (facing) chaos...And the ministers of the NC-Congress coalition are acting like goons," BJP state vice president Vibodh Gupta said in statement here and cited the example of April 18 incident, where Kichloo allegedly slapped Kishtwar Development Authority CEO Riyaz Choudhary.

"The situation requires immediate expulsion of the minister, but Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is shielding him due to reasons best known to him," Gupta said and appealed to Governor N N Vohra to dismiss the government.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) general secretary Anita Thakur, wrote a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today on the entire issue.
