NCP leader Ajit Pawar has hit out at the BJP-Shiv Sena government in Maharashtra for not delivering what they had promised, as the party launched its campaign for the Thane Municipal Corporation polls scheduled to be held next year.

"The BJP-Shiv Sena government has not performed and not delivered on its promises. They make only false promises," he said last night.

The former Maharashtra deputy chief minister also challenged the saffron parties in power to make public the contents of the diary of city-based builder Suraj Parmar, who had allegedly committed suicide.

"Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is not at all leaving the Home Ministry. He is slow in his work as he holds several portfolios," Pawar quipped.

Pawar alleged that by brining the Internal Security Bill the state government was "crushing" the freedom of the citizens.

NCP's Maharashtra unit chief Sunil Tatkare said BJP had promised several things prior to the last elections but there were no results after the party came to power.
