Delhi BJP today criticized the Aam Aadmi Party government's direction to reportedly route all public order files related to police, services and DDA through chief minister's office (CMO).

Leader of Delhi BJP Legislative Party Vijendra Gupta has urged the Lt Governor Najeeb Jung to send a report in this matter to the Union Home Ministry and obtain direction in this regard, demanding that till then, no files be sent to city's government ministers.

Gupta also said that Delhi being a union territory as per the constitutional provisions powers to take all decisions pertaining to land use, law & order and transfer postings of senior level vest with the Union Home Ministry.

"From time to time, Central government and the Lt Governor have invited suggestion of elected govt in Delhi. In fact former Union Home Minister L K Advani had allowed some written relaxation too in 1998 but never in city, there has been confrontation between the chief minister and the L-G on the matter of public order files," Gupta said in a statement.

However, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that the state government wrote a letter to February 25 last month, saying that we followed all rules and there is no conflict between L-G office and CMO.

"Kejriwal is unduly interfering to create a politically vicious atmosphere. His intention is creating a politically confronting atmosphere just to divert public attention from his failing promises to people and ruthless autocratic functioning within his party," Gupta also alleged.
