Accusing the Left Front of trying to divert the attention from the Saradha scam, state BJP today said Left's appeal to meet PM Narendra Modi over the scam, was a ploy to prove TMC's allegation that Modi is controlling the probe.

"After two years they now want to meet Narendra Modi and give him details of Saradha Scam. Is Modiji conducting the probe?. The probe is being conducted by CBI under the directions of the Supreme Court. If they have any evidence why are not they sharing with CBI," state BJP president Rahul Sinha asked.

Demanding that CBI interrogate West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in the Saradha Chit Fund probe, the West Bengal Left Front yesterday sought an appointment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to apprise him of the situation and discuss possible alternatives to help the duped investors.

"Actually what Left is trying to do is prove the false allegation by TMC that BJP is controlling the Saradha probe. The Left has been rejected by the masses and now they are playing a second fiddle to ruling TMC in order to save their own base in Bengal," Sinha said.

Meanwhile, just days after TMC claimed that Sinha's brother has joined TMC, the state BJP unit today inducted TMC general secretary Mukul Roy's nephew Dibyendu Roy in the party.

"Today Dibyendu Roy, who is nephew of Mukul Roy, joined BJP," Sinha said while addressing a press conference while sitting beside Dibyendu.

Dibyendu, who is a distant nephew of Mukul Roy, said that he has joined BJP after being inspired by its ideology.

"I have never been into politics before. But I am attracted to the ideology of BJP," he said.
