BJP tonight criticised Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for raking up the Kashmir issue at the UN General Assembly and blaming India for cancellation of talks, saying the neighbouring country was more keen on talking with separatists rather than New Delhi.
"If you look at the track record, this is not very encouraging in terms of Pakistan being serious in improving terms with India or working towards a better relationship.
"Even when Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended the hands of friendship, Pakistan was more keen to talk to separatists rather than the Government of India and the talks got cancelled," BJP spokeperson Nalin Kohli said.

The Pakistan premier today raised up the Kashmir issue at the UNGA and blamed India for "another missed opportunity" to address outstanding issues by cancelling the Foreign Secretary-level talks.
Asserting that a "veil" cannot be drawn over the "core" issue of Kashmir, he said Pakistan was ready to work for resolution of this problem through negotiations.
