BJP today questioned as to why

Akhilesh Yadav government was adamant on terming those accused in terror activities as innocent.

"What facts the government has on the basis of which it is terming terror accused as innocent despite the fact that charge sheet has been filed in the court," BJP chief spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak told reporters here.

He said such an act of the government hits the morale of the investigating agencies.

Pathak wanted to know as to why the government was adamant on taking the role of judiciary.

He said that taking cognisance of the government's efforts to release accused in the terror activities by terming them as innocent the court has to intervene.

"The court has sought a reply from the government regarding list of terror accused," he said.

The spokesman said that in the name of withdrawing cases, the SP government was working on its political agenda.

He alleged that while the government was withdrawing cases, FIRs were being lodged against those agitating peacefully.

Pathak said that in Ambedkar Nagar an FIR was lodged against 27 BJP workers, including the district president Ram Prakash.

"It reflects the autocracy of the SP government," he alleged.
