Alleging that Uttar Pradesh government was not serious about controlling the prices of essential commodities, BJP members today held protest and staged a walk out from the Assembly during Question Hour.

To a question on what steps have been taken for controlling prices, Minister for Food and Civil Supplies Raghuraj Pratap Singh said that schemes already exist and no new scheme was proposed to control the inflation.

BJP's Satish Mahana, through supplementary question, wanted to know as to what measures had been taken by the government for the purpose.

To the minister's reply, that instructions have been issued to commissioners and district magistrates from time to time and that cost of onion ect. Was under control, Mahana said,"when the government is not ready to accept that prices have soared there is no scope to say anything more."
