Both the BJP Lok Sabha candidates in Goa were leading in the first round of counting which began here this morning.
Initial trends showed BJP candidates - Sripad Naik in North Goa and Narendra Sawaikar in South Goa - were ahead.
Naik was leading by 6,500 votes over his nearest rival Ravi Naik of Congress in North Goa, while Sawaikar was ahead of Congress' Aleixo Lourenco Reginaldo by 6,000 votes.
Counting is being held at Bal Bhavan in Panaji and Damodar College of Commerce in Margao for North and South Goa seats, respectively.
