A BJP delegation today met Lt Governor Najeeb Jung and handed over a memorandum demanding the immediate arrest and sacking of Delhi Law Minister Somnath Bharti for his alleged "illegal activities".

The delegation led by Delhi BJP President Vijay Goel also handed over evidence which purportedly relates to former Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit's role in the CWG scam.

"There have been cases filed against Bharti for violating the dignity of women, revealing the name of the Danish woman who was gangraped here.

"He has been indicted by a court in the past for professional misconduct. Why is no action being taken against him; why has he not been arrested so far?" Goel said.

"BJP is not satisfied with the attitude of the Lt Governor as he is treating Bharti like a 'Khaas Aadmi'. Had any other citizen committed such crimes, he would have been behind bars by now," Goel added.

"Kejriwal says he has no proof against former CM Dikshit and her ministers for their corrupt practices and loot of public money during Commonwealth Games. A BJP committee has collected the evidence and we have handed it over to the LG," Goel said in a statement today.

The party will continue with its agitation against the "Congress-AAP alliance" and Bharti until the law minister was arrested and sacked.

The BJP delegation comprised former Delhi BJP presidents Mangeram Garg and Vijender Gupta, senior leader Jagdish Mukhi, party national secretary Arti Mehra and legislators Ramesh Bidhuri, Pawan Sharma, MS Bisht and Vijay Jolly, among others.
