Regaining Karnataka is very important for BJP in order to give a Congress-free country and make the party strong in the south, Muralidhar Rao, in-charge of BJP affairs in the state, said today.
"...Regaining Karnataka is very important for the party. We will do whatever is required to regain the lost ground in the state," Rao told reporters here.
Rao said the mandate given by the people in the Lok Sabha elections was to see BJP as a strong opposition in Karnataka and hence, it would adopt an aggressive stance to expose the Congress government's shortcomings.

Rao said the party would highlight the failures of the Siddaramaiah government on all fronts including "deteriorating" law and order situation, agricultural failure and poor rural economy. These failures had created confusion in the government which has hit investment flow into the state.
He also said that keeping in mind the massive support given by the people in recently concluded polls in Maharashtra and Haryana, the party hopes and is confident that the trend would continue in the Jammu and Kashmir and Jharkhand polls.
Keeping in view the growing popularity of BJP across the country, Rao said the party has decided to launch membership drive in southern and eastern parts of the country.
"We will have new section, which will not be just young people but the whole diveristy of membership should be reflected," he said.
