The BJP will conduct a special campaign in Uttar Pradesh to weed out "fake voters" and include the names of genuine electors in the voters' list, ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha election.
In a statement issued here today, UP BJP vice-president JPS Rathore said, "The campaign will be held from June 23 to June 25. UP BJP office-bearers, MPs and MLAs will be involved in the campaign. On June 25, UP BJP chief Mahendra Nath Pandey will visit a booth in Chandauli district, while UP BJP general secretary (organisation) Sunil Bansal will be in Lucknow."
"Our endeavour is to ensure that genuine voters' names are added in the voters' list, while the names of the fake voters are deleted from the voters' list through the booth level officer," Rathore said.
