BJP will organise a demonstration in Gorakhpur on May 7 to protest against release of people arrested on charges of terrorist activities by the Uttar Pradesh government.

"With an eye on vote bank politics, the state government is releasing people arrested for their involvement in terror activities," BJP state president Laxmi Kant Bajpai alleged.

The process has already started from Gorakhpur where a case has been withdrawn against a blast accused, he said.

"BJP will organise a massive demonstration on May 7 against the policy of the government and even then if it fails to react, a dharna will be organised on May 22," he said.

Bajpai alleged that the UPA government has failed on all fronts, whether it was killing of Sarabjit in a Pakistan jail or infiltration by China.

"The party will organise a five-day long protest during which, demonstrations and dharnas will be organised across the state," he said.

On a question whether the party's national general secretary and Pilibhit MP Varun Gandhi will contest from Sultanpur, Bajpai denied to comment, but added, "Process to select candidates for Lok Sabha elections will start from May 4.
