"The Kissan Morcha of the party under its National President Om Prakash Dhankad will hold two-days 'Kissan Sansad' in Delhi on May 12-13 to discuss the challenges being faced by the farming sector, marketing insecurities, poor disaster management and increasing prices", BJP Kissan Morcha National Secretary and Morcha's J and K in-charge Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal told reporters here today.

He disclosed that this Kissan Parliament will discuss the challenges being faced by the farming sector, marketing insecurities, poor disaster management and increasing prices.

Grewal mentioned that the Kissan Parliament had been necessitated because the Government had turned a deaf ear to their demand of convening a special session for discussing the farmers' issue.

BJP National President Nitin Gadkari, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley, BJP-ruled states Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers and former Chairman of the Farmers Commission M S Swaminathan and journalist P Sainath have been invited in the scheduled Kissan Sansad, he said.

"In every 30 minutes, one farmer commits suicide in India. It is due to the anti-farmer policies of Congress led UPA government at the centre", BJP Kissan Morcha National Secretary said.

"A farmer is very demoralised man today with rising input costs and hardly any returns", Grewal said.
