BJP to press for discussion on Assam violence in Parliament

The party said that if its demand is not accepted, it will disrupt the proceedings.

BJP Parliamentary Party chairman L K Advani will move an adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha demanding discussion on the ethnic violence in the northeastern state.

BJP deputy leader in Rajya Sabha Ravi Shankar Prasad and MP Balbir Punj will take up the issue through a suspension of Question Hour notice in the Upper House, the party said.

Outside Parliament also the BJP will hold a demonstration at the Jantar Mantar against violence in Assam.
