"We will raise the matter which has has harassed genuine Hindu citizens for ages in the court," Ananda, a member of the special cell formed by party president Nitin Gadkari to investigated the issue of doubtful voters said here today.
During her visit to villages bordering Bangladesh, Ananda said a team of legal experts interacted with nearly 200 Hindu "victims" as they were labelled as doubtful voters.
Citing the case of suicide of Arjun Namasudra after he was declared as a doubtful voter, the BJP leader said the party will raise the issue before the National Human Rights Commission so that "genuine Hindu" citizens are not harassed.
"Many are persecuted and even pushed back to Bangladesh on the pretext of not being Indian citizen. This cannot be accepted," she said.
