BJP would like to emerge as a political force by itself in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and the party is unlikely to have any alliances in the two states in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, BJP MP and spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao said today.
"As of now, there is no plan and it's unlikely. BJP would certainly strive to emerge as a political force by itself," he told reporters here in reply to a question.
BJP is trying to emerge as an alternative in Telangana, he said.
Replying to a query, he said results of bypolls and general elections would be vastly different as local factors would play a major role in the bye-elections.
BJP would work to win more than 300 Lok Sabha seats in the 2019 elections and the party was confident of achieving it, Rao said.
BJP aims to win a signficant number of Lok Sabha seats in the southern states where it did not fare too well in the 2014 polls, he said.

The Centre during the previous UPA regime gave Rs 3.63 lakh crore to southern states as funds, but Rs 9.13 lakh crore is being given now, he said.
"During the five-year (Congress) rule before us, the Centre gave Rs 3,63,179 crore to the five southern states. Whereas, during our government, the Narendra Modi government, for five years,.... Rs 9,13,296 crore is being given," he said.
Replying to a query, Rao said "BJP does not believe in ending relationship with any political ally."
"Any party which has done that has done that at their own bidding. Whether it's TDP's exit from the NDA, is a decision made by the TDP and not caused by the NDA nor influenced by the BJP," he said.
"We actually perfected the art of running coalitions in a very efficient and effective manner...," he added.
