BJP will carry out public campaigns to highlight what it alleged bad governance and shortcomings of the AIADMK government across Tamil Nadu, a senior party leader said here today.

"Our target is clear. It is to reach out to every village and every section and explain the shortcomings and bad governance which we have in Tamil Nadu", BJP National General Secretary Muralidhar Rao told reporters here.

"Governance is affected in all aspects. There is Corruption, mis governance, bad governance. They have not been able to deliver in any area. Employment is going down and industries are getting closed", he said.

On reports that BJP would form an alliance with AIADMK ahead of next year's polls, BJP's state President Tamilisai Sounderrajan asked why such an opinion was imposed on them.

"There has been no formal announcement (from the party headquarters) that there will be an alliance with AIADMK. In such a scenario, I do not know why such an opinion is getting imposed", she said.

Sounderrajan said, "we will support a cause if it is for the welfare of the people. But in the last four years the government did not make any notable achievement."

"It is painful to note that even after Chief Minister (Jayalalithaa) took over after a gap of one year there has not been any progressive development in the State", she said.

Jayalalithaa returned as Legislator after a gap of about 10 months, after she was disqualified as MLA and CM following her conviction in a wealth case by a Bengaluru trial court last September.

She was subsequently acquitted by Karnataka High Court in May following her appeal against the lower court verdict, allowing her to return as Chief Minister.
