BJP is unlikely to provide full statehood to Delhi, a status it had promised in its previous poll manifestos.
Sources said the party will come out with a vision document this time and not A manifesto and the issue of providing full statehood to Delhi has been put in the back burner.
They added that the contentious issue of providing law and order and land acquisition rights to Delhi were some of the factors that forced the BJP not to pursue the issue as of now.

"Delhi is the national capital. How can the law and order and land acquisition rights be given to a state government in the national capital? Nowhere in the world such a practice exists," said a senior BJP leader.
Party leaders said the BJP, however, may include the issue in its vision document that it will come out in the next two- three days, by providing Delhi some more rights barring law and order and land acquisition.
