Rashtriya Kisan Majdoor Party (RKMP) today said that Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) will suffer in the upcoming Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh due to the demonetisation-driven cash crunch that has made the farmers' condition in the district from bad to worse.
Addressing a gathering of farmers at BB Nagar here last evening, RKMP Chief Virendra Mohan Singh claimed that during Mayawati government, farmers were getting fair prices for sugarcane crop after a verdict by the Supreme court.
Even after five years in rule, the UP government led by Akhilesh Yadav has failed to fix remunerative sugarcane prices and farmers are left with pending arrears, he alleged.
RKMP has been fighting the sugar mills lobby for the last 22 years in various courts of law, he said.
