Scores of BJP women activists today forced their way into the Agra Collectorate carrying glass bangles to protest against the deteriorating law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh.

Both the district magistrate and the Senior Superintendent of Police had left for the day but the irate women volunteers entered into the SP city's office and threw bangles, police said.

Several teams from different parts of the city trooped in with 20,000 glass bangles at the police lines and later into the Collectorate and unsuccessfully tried to present bangles to senior officials.

They were pushed back by women police cops.

In the ruckus, SP, Rural, Babita Sahu fell down and hurt herself while CO Kotwali Manisha Singh's eye was bruised.

BJP leaders, including the local MP and Minister of State for HRD Ram Shankar Katheria, said the programme by women activists was successful and the right message had been sent to the state government.

BJP Mahila Morcha President Sandhya Joshi said women activists put up an effective protest against "extremely bad" law and order situation in the state.
