In a new twist to the lady teacher molestation and burning to death case, the women wing of state BJP today lodged an FIR with police here against Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik holding him responsible for the "barbaric" incident even as Odisha government dismissed four officials for dereliction of duty.
"We have received a written complaint from BJP's women wing. Police is examining the nature of allegation made in the complaint," inspector-in-charge of Capital Police Station Aseem Panda told PTI.
"The chief minister is responsible for the death of the lady teacher. He behaved like a mute spectator even though the teacher had urged the administration and chief minister to provide protection to her," state BJP's women wing president Simantini Jena told reporters after lodging the complaint.

BJP will continue to stage agitation till the deceased woman gets justice, said senior BJP leader B B Harichandan asking how the entire administration turned mute to the screams of the teacher.
Meanwhile, the victim's family including her nonagenarian father Balabhadra Pradhan, a retired teacher, demanded capital punishment for the culprits. "The culprits must be hanged," Pradhan said with tears rolling down his cheeks.
Taking note of the dying declaration of the teacher as aired by some tv channels, National Commission for Women (NCW) chairperson Mamata Sharma said they have decided to issue notices to Rayagada district collector and the SP.
Some local news channels on Tuesday had aired the voice recording of the victim before her death on November 1.
Suspended school inspector Netrananda Dandsena, who is prime accused in the molestation and murder case of the teacher, was dismissed from service along with three others by the state government today.
Besides Dandasena, two policemen and an official of the school and mass education department were dismissed from service on charge of dereliction of duty while handling the molestation case against Dandasena, Chief Secretary J K Mohapatra said, adding that the action was taken as per the provision of the article 311 of the Constitution.
Rayagada District Inspector of Schools Dambarudhar Behera was dismissed along with police officials - Tikiri police station inspector-in-charge Sujit Kumar Sai and assistant sub-inspector Muralidhar Pradhan in Rayagada district.
