Criticising the UPA government's "anti-poor and anti-farmer policies", former BJP president M Venkaiah Naidu today called upon party workers to go to the people highlighting achievements of the NDA government led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

BJP workers should visit every block and village with a slogan of 'Support BJP and save India' and expose the UPA's numerous scams, corruption and skyrocketing price rise, Naidu said while addressing concluding meeting of the two-day BJP state executive council here.

Besides highlighting the NDA's government's achievements, party workers should also propagate welfare and developmental programmes taken up in BJP ruled states, he said.

The people are fed up of the Congress-led UPA government because of its anti-poor and anti-farmer policies, he said.

Addressing the meeting, state BJP president G Kishan Reddy, who took charge as BJP's state president for the second consecutive term, assured the people that his party would achieve separate statehood for the Telangana region after it came to power at the Centre.

Stating that the people of Telangana want nothing short of a separate state, Reddy said that his party wanted both regions to develop and had no ill intention towards any particular region.
