BJP activists today took out a protest march here over the attack on the party's youth wing leader, allegedly by SFI activists.

The activists raised slogans against the worsening condition of law and order in the state and demanded action against the culprits.

Narendra Attri, member of national executive of Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha and in-charge of Punjab, was badly injured in clash with some persons, alleged to be SFI activists, who beat him up at Anu chowk yesterday night.

A spokesman of the BJYM alleged that Attri was beaten up when he objected to SFI activists raising "dirty" slogans against top BJP leaders.

Attiri was admitted to the hospital, where senior state BJP leader P K Dhumal visited him and decried the worsening law and order situation in the state under Congress rule.

Hamirpur police has registered a case of rioting and arrested one Anil Mankotia, the Hamirpur based leader of the SFI for alleged attack on Attri.
