A BJP youth leader of Odisha was suspended today for his alleged association with the arrested mafia Dhalasamant brothers.

BJP suspended Debashis Ghosh from the primary membership of the party for 'gross indiscipline' after he was recently interrogated by police for his alleged involvement in criminal activities of Dhalasamant brothers, a senior leader said.

Reacting to the action taken against him, Ghosh said he would abide by the decision of the party and is hopeful of coming out unscathed over the Dhalasamant episode.

The brothers, Sushant and Sushil, were arrested in January on charges of murdering two of their former associates.

In a related development, some leaders of the Congress' student wing met Police Commissioner Y B Khurania and submitted a memorandum to him demanding action against some BJD leaders for their alleged links with the mafia brothers.
