BJYM holds protests over gangrape, murder in Himachal

Members of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) today took out a candle march at Jantar Mantar in memory of a suspected gang-rape and murder victim of Himachal Pradesh.

The 15-year-old girl was gang-raped and then brutally murdered on July 4 in Kotkhai village of the hill state, BJYM, the BJP's youth wing, said.

BJYM's general secretaries Saurabh Chaudhary and Abhijat Mishra, its Delhi unit chief Sunil Yadav, media head Shivam Chhabra were among the leaders who led the protests, it said.

In a statement, BJYM president Poonam Mahajan condemned the crime and attacked the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh for rising cases of crime against women there.
