"50 per cent seats are reserved for women in panchayat election and so they should join political parties and know their ideology. They can play an important role in developing the country," Thakur also said.
Thakur said that women as well as youths are given important responsibility in the BJP. "In Narendra Modi-led government, there are several persons who have come from student politics", he said.
Asked how party will ensure security for women in the national capital, he said, "We are not only enrolling women in the party, but we are also telling about various women helpline numbers so that they can use them in any emergency. When new women members will join BJP, it will strengthen the party."
Meanwhile, a minor scuffle broke out between Aam Aadmi Party and BJP workers near the Rajiv Chowk Metro Station.
Delhi BJP youth Nakul Bhardwaj asked AAP workers to campaign at some other place, but they refused to move. The matter was sorted out after senior BJP leaders intervened.
