Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) today locked the Assistant Transport Officer (ARTO) office protesting against the latter's move to seize tractors older than ten years.

The farmers, led by BKU's district chief Bishan Singh, were resenting a notice of ARTO, which warned them of seizure of tractors older than ten years.

The locking of ARTO office paralysed the working for three hours and was lifted only on an assurance by the ARTO (Administration) Surinder Singh that no seizure of farmers' tractors older than ten years will be made.

Later Surinder said that the notice of seizure was served in compliance of order of National Green Tribunal (NGT) banning plying of any four wheeler older than ten years.
