BKU members block road after co-op bank fails to provide cash

Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) members blocked a road after a cooperative bank failed to provide cash to its customers at Gurduwara Traha in Shamli district, police said today.

BKU members, led by Vinod Nirval, also locked the door of the the bank last evening, they said.

Meanwhile, a SBI bank branch was locked down after customers gheraoed the bank manager at Thanabhawan town and at Bajheri village people blocked a road outside a Gramin Bank here yesterday after they failed to get cash.

In another incident, a PNB manager at Galibpur village was kept confined in the bank by villagers, police said.
 

Security has been tightened outside banks in the districts after the incidents, they added.
