Bhartiya Kisan Union's protest for farmers' rights entered its eighth day today, with the organisation continuing its sit-in on the national highway.
The BKU workers marched to the residence of Kurukshetra MP Raj Kumar Saini and burnt his effigy outside his residence raising slogans against him and his party.
The protesters are demanding implementation of Swaminathan Committee recommendations for farmers which provide for at least 50 per cent profit to the growers over and above the cost of production as well as withdrawal of the Land Acquisition Ordinance.

The agitators also announced to hold a similar dharna outside the residence of Ladwa MLA Pawan Saini tomorrow.
The BKU workers have been staging sit-ins in front of the grain market at Pipli on the national highway pressing for their demands since the past week.
