Black pepper gains on persistent demand

Black pepper gained further at the spices market today on persistent demand from stockist and traders.

While,Copra office Alapuzha and copra office Kozhikode slipped following reduced demand from stockist and retailers on the back of ample arrivals from producing belts.

Rest of spices maintained a stable trend in the absence of any worthwhile buying.

Black pepper rose by Rs 10/15 per kg to Rs 700/765 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 690/750.

However, Copra office Alapuzha and Copra office Kozhikode fell by Rs 100 per quintal each to Rs 7,400 and Rs

Black pepper (per kg) 700/765 (690/750), ginger bleached (per kg) 210 (210), ginger unbleached (per kg) 230 (230), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 7,400 (7,500), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 7,300 (7,400), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 18,000 (18,000), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 9,300 (9,300).
