Black pepper, ginger ease on lower demand

Black pepper and ginger prices eased further at the spices market here today on lower demand from stockists and retailers amid subdued export offtake.

While, Copra office Alapuzha and copra office Kozhikode gained further following sustained demand from stockists and exporters.

Rest all other spices ruled steady in the absence of any worthwhile buying.

Black Pepper fell by Rs 10/5 per kg to Rs 690/660 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 700/765.

Ginger bleached and unbleached moved down by Rs 10 per kg each to Rs 180 and Rs 200 as against Rs 190 and Rs 210, respectively.

However, Copra office Alapuzha and copra Kozhikode climbed by Rs 100 per quintal each to Rs 6,600 and Rs 6,400 from its overnight level of Rs 6,500 and Rs 6,300.

Black pepper (per kg) 690/660 (700/765), ginger bleached (per kg) 185 (190), ginger unbleached (per kg) 205 (210), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 6,600 (6,500), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 6,400 (6,300), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 16,000 (16,000), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 8,000 (8,000).
