Black pepper, ginger rise on firm demand

Black pepper rd and ginger unbleached gained further at the spices market here today following good demand from stockists and retailers.

Elsewhere, copra Rajapur Mumbai also surged owing to rising demand from stockists and retailers.

Rest all other spices ruled stable in the absence of any major buying activity.

Black pepper rd rose by Rs 20/25 per kg to Rs 380/435 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 360/410 and ginger unbleached moved up by Rs 10 per kg to Rs 185 as against Rs 175 previously.

Copra Rajapur Mumbai went-up by Rs 300 per quintal to Rs 20,800 as compared to Rs 20,500.

Black pepper (per kg) 380/435 (360/410), ginger unbleached (per kg) 185 (175), copra office Alappuzha (per quintal) 11,500 (11,500), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 11,300 (11,300), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 20,800 (20,500), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 14,300 (14,300).
