Black pepper hardens on consistent demand

Black pepper prices hardened at the spices market here today on consistent demand from stockists and retailers coupled with higher export offtake.

Elsewhere, copra Alapuzha also surged further due to sustained demand from millers amidst ensuing festivities.

Black pepper climbed by Rs 10/15 per kg to Rs 505/540 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 495/525.

Copra office Alapuzha gained by Rs 50 per quintal Rs 7,100 as against Rs 7,050 previously.

Black pepper (per kg) 505/540 (495/525), ginger bleached (per kg) 175 (175), ginger unbleached (per kg) 185 (185), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 7,100 (7,050), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 7,000 (7,000), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 9,000 (9,000) Copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 8,200 (8,200).
