Black pepper recovers on renewed demand

Black pepper recovered modestly at the Spice market here today owing to renewed demand from stockists and exporters.

Copra rajapur mumbai, copra office alapuza and copra office kozhikode gained on good demand from stockists and millers.

MeanWhile, rest of spices held steady in the absence of any largescale buying activity.

Black pepper rose by Rs 4/10 per kg to Rs 560/660 from overnight closing level of Rs 556/650.

Copra office Alapuzha and copra office Kozhikode also gained by Rs 100 per quintal each to Rs 9,800 and Rs 9,700 as compared to Rs 9,700 and Rs 9,600 previously.

Copra Rajapur Mumbai spurted by Rs 500 per quintal to Rs 16,000 from last Saturday's closing level of Rs 15,500.

Black pepper (per kg) 560/660 (556/650), ginger bleached (per kg) 215 (215), ginger unbleached (per kg) 235 (235), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 9,800 (9,700), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 9,700 (9,600), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 16,000 (15,500), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 12,000 (12,000).
