Black pepper weakens on poor offtake

Black pepper rd weakened at the spices market here today following poor offtake from stockists and retailers.

Elsewhere, copra prices also dropped owing to reduced demand from stockists and retailers amidst poor export offtake.

Ginger unbleached ruled steady in the absence of necessary buying activity.

Black pepper rd eased by Rs 10/10 per kg to Rs 400/460 from Monday's closing level of Rs 410/470.

Copra office alappuzha, copra office kozhikode, copra rajapur mumbai and copra edible mumbai fell by Rs 100 per quintal each to Rs 12,200, Rs 12,000, Rs 15,700 and Rs 14,800 as against Rs 12,300, Rs 12,100, Rs 15,800 and Rs 14,900 respectively.

Black pepper (per kg) 400/460 (410/470), ginger unbleached (per kg) 121 (121), copra office Alappuzha (per quintal) 12,200 (12,300), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 12,000 (12,100), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 15,700 (15,800), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 14,800 (14,900).
