Michael Bay's pirate drama 'Black Sails' has been renewed for a third season by Starz even before a second season has aired.

The news follows Starz's decision to renew 'Survivor's Remorse', 'Power' and 'Outlander', according to Hollywood Reporter.

"We think that Season 3 will bring even more of the drama and lore that has made it a hit both in the US and internationally," Starz Managing Director Carmi Zlotnik said.

Produced by Michael Bay and Brad Fuller, 'Black Sails' follows Captain Flint (Toby Stephens) and his pirate crew as they clash with the civilised world decades before Treasure Island.

The series also stars Luke Arnold, Tom Hopper, Jessica Parker Kennedy, Zach McGowan, Hannah New and Clara Paget.

Season 2 of 'Black Sails' is set to premiere on January 24.
