The "Blade Runner" sequel, starring Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling, is plotted to come out during a long holiday weekend in January next year.
The second installment of Ridley Scott's 1982 sci-fi film is set to be directed by Denis Villeneuve.
Ford is signed on to reprise his role as Rick Deckard and Gosling has been confirmed as the first new addition to the cast.
The story of the untitled "Blade Runner" project is expected to take place several decades after the conclusion of the original movie which tells a story about a retired member of a police officer corps called blade runners who hunt down replicants on Earth.
