Singer Blake Shelton remembered his brother, Richie, in a touching message on twitter, on his death anniversary.

Richie died in a car crash in 1990 at the age of 24 and Blake was 14 at that time.

The 39-year-old coach on "The Voice" called Richie his hero, reported Aceshowbiz.

"Wow... 25 years ago today we lost my brother Richie Shelton. He's still my hero going strong. Wish everyone could've known him," Blake wrote.

Blake, who grew up in Oklahoma, is the youngest of three kids.

His death had impacted the country star's life throughout the years and had inspired many of his songs as well as his ex-wife Miranda Lambert's.

The former couple co-wrote "Over You" in memory of Richie.

"But you went away / How dare you? / I miss you / They say I'll be okay / But I'm not going to ever get over you," the lyrics read.
