Expressing serious concern over nature's fury in the hill state, former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh, Narain Dutt Tewari today said it was not right to level charges against anyone with regard to ongoing relief and rescue operations at this point of time.
The veteran Congressman said several things are being told but levelling charges, is not right at this time.
"This is not the time to do post mortem (on how the relief works are being carried out), it can be done later...Neither there is the need to change the Chief Minister, nor is it required...All this can be considered later," Tewari said to questions on whether he was satisfied with the ongoing relief works there.
Tewari who termed the calamity as unprecedented, said he has not heard or seen anything of this kind before.
"The losses have not yet been estimated and now reconstruction works have to be taken up," he said.
The national president of Akhil Bhartiya Brahmin Mahasabha, Rajendra Nath Tripathi demanded Uttarakhand Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna's resignation, who he alleged had been lax during the first three days of the calamity.
Tewari is the chief patron of the Mahasabha, which also donated Rs 1.61 lakh to the PM's relief fund.
