Blasphemy accused dies in police custody in Pak

Police denied the allegations of torture and said Nadeem Yousuf, the dead man, was a drug addict and might have died due to his dependence on narcotics.

Yousuf, who was in his twenties, was detained in Nankana Sahib town of Punjab province about a week ago after he was accused of burning pages of the Quran.

Police official Azhar Basra told PTI that residents of Usmani Wala village handed over Yousuf to police.
