Blast in Dibrugarh, 4 injured

At least four persons were critically injured in a grenade blast by suspected militants in upper Assam's Dibrugarh town today, police said.

Two extremists came on a motorcycle and hurled a grenade at a market place in Pasali area around 5 PM before fleeing, the sources said.

The injured have been admitted to the Assam Medical College Hospital, they said.

The identify of the outfit responsible for the blast was not immediately known, the sources said, adding that investigations were on.

Senior police officials have rushed to the site and security arrangements have been stepped up in the town.
